More Flowers, More to Look Forward To

You know the saying about having something coming out of your ears when you have too much? In the spring, it’s going to be flowers for me. Why? 

Even though I’ve mentioned first frost and the end of the season before, they’ve always felt like something looming in the future without seeming completely real or close. This week I had my first sense of sadness and uncertainty about what it would be like when the flowers were finished this season. So how did I deal with that?

I set my sights on spring and ordered more flowers, possibly more than I had planned! Not too many extra, but it is the time of year when sales begin for the following year. I’ve been waiting for October 1st, when a favorite vendor opens their spring shipping catalog, and their selection didn’t disappoint. I look forward to sharing them with you in the spring.

We are in a bit of a microclimate that can be colder than the area around us. Next week’s lows look like they could bring frost. If it comes, it’ll be a few months without flowers, but their absence will make me appreciate the spring tulips even more.
