Moving Toward Fall

I almost missed the weekly email, but I realized it’s Thursday before it was too late. Holidays on Mondays usually throw my whole week off. 

The flowers are still blooming, although they’re showing signs of slowing down with the shorter days. Crispy is the word I’d use for much of the farm. Leaves around us are already changing, and everything is dry.

As many of the flowers wind down, the mums are developing buds. They’re a mix of heirloom varieties. I haven’t had success with these before, but they often got the “plant them and forget them” treatment in prior years. This year I’m doting on them!
